Work as DoP/Director:
Tomas Erhart has worked as a DoP (Director of Photography) on more than 80 feature films and TV movies, as well as numerous documentaries and commercials. His portfolio includes films such as Bernd Eichinger’s “Manta – Manta” and “Die Superbullen” as well as “Der Neunte Tag” by Oscar-winning director Volker Schlöndorff, “Schwabenkinder” by Jo Baier and the historical drama “A breath of Heaven”, which won the Chinese “Oscar” (The Golden Rooster).
As a director, he has shot several cinema and TV productions, including the successful theatrical comedy “Bruder vor Luder” for Constantin Film / RatPack.
Tomas is one of the co-founders of renowned Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and a member of the German Film Academy.

Work as Producer:
In 2001 -2004 Tomas Erhart produced the internationally acclaimed and technically groundbreaking theatrical 3D documentary “WACKEN 3D – Louder than Hell”, creating one of the most captivating music films of recent years. To shoot the film, he developed special 3D rigs and workflows. During the more than two years of filming, he also was in charge for the biggest 3D screening in film history, with more than 70,000 enthusiastic viewers of the Wacken 3D trailer at the Wacken Open Air in 2003.
Artistic work:
In parallel to his film work, Tomas Erhart has been exploring the conceptual possibilities of digital photography since the mid-1990s. His highly acclaimed art projects “CellPhonology” and “Deconstructive Nudes” have been presented to the public in numerous exhibitions and press releases.
